History

Uniradio

In 1969, Don Gustavo Astiazarán, president and founder, invested in his first radio station XEMO, best known today as La Poderosa 860. In 1978, he acquired the first FM station, XHSD of Hermosillo, capital of the state of Sonora, Mexico.

He then went on to buy XHFG in 1979, which covers the area of San Diego and Tijuana. And so on, Uniradio continued to expand the radio group with stations like XHTY-FM, XHA-FM and XRCN-AM in 1998, which sum up 13 radio stations to this day: 5 stations in the San Diego-Tijuana area, and 8 stations in Sonora, Mexico.

As our media group keeps growing, new members of the Astiazarán family have come aboard to take on the duties of the company; Luis Carlos Astiazarán as General Director of Uniradio Tijuana, and Ricardo Astiazarán as General Director of Uniradio Corp San Diego.
